HSN will not send Brownies to Marine in Afghanistan

I tried unsuccessfully to enter an FPO address online HSN to buy and send Brownies to a Marine in Afghanistan. This is a US Federal Post Office address. When I was unsuccessful I called HSN. After 15 minutes of unbelief I asked for a supervisor who informed me that no they will not mail any packages to our fighting soldiers or any soldier with an FPO address. The HSN policy is not to mail to an FBO post office which is where all fighting soldiers receive their packages. How Un American that HSN will not let me send Brownies to an American Marine fighting for his Country in Afghanistan. Amazon.com has no such problems or restrictins.

Avoid HSN TracFone Deals

It may be cheap but "you get what you pay for." I was given a tracfone ,as a gift, by my girlfriend. It had lots of minutes and triple time when you bought more. However, after at least 6 hours on a different phone to the service idiots and 3 phones later I do not think it was such a great deal. Phone # 3 has still not reverted to the previous # that have given all my acquaintances and since I did not have a 2nd phone with me on the 6th call, the final *** could not "recode" the POS so it would have the old #. It had been over 24 hrs. since the prior *** said the # would change to the one I requested. He said it would take only an hour, at the most. I guess the question comes down to this: How long can tricky marketing allow a slimy company to keep sell junk? When is a large enough segment of the population going to catch on. On the other hand, it is Walmart, after all. They've been doing it for many years now, haven't they.

HSN does NOT stand behind their Tracfone products. They won't do anything to help resolve my problem with a problem CAUSED BY TRACFONE, that they can NOT fix.

HSN should just tell them to send me a NEW (not refurbished like they sent me)phone because of the amount of TracFone they sell for them. Terrible business practices.

Not standing behind the customer. Totally disgusted with HSN and TracFone.

HSN checks people's credit. It's bullspit.

Yeah you get flex pay..

after you go through all the trouble of making a purchase and they take a look at your credit. It's just plain wrong.

#506561

You obviously have terrible credit and HSN would not let you go on flex pay because you're shady plain and simple.

Bought 2Tracfone from HSN can't get though to recieve promotion Can't get minutes put on phone

I bought 2 phones from Tracfone on HSN. For almost a month I've been trying to get them activated and get my promotional minutes. I can never get anyone on the phone and when I do get a real person they barely speak English and they put me through a half hour of putting codes in the phone. They then say everything should work in 24 hours. I wait 2 days nothing happens and I start all over again. Now I get a recording that my promotion has expired and I can not get a person on the phone.

HSN Bad Product Bad Customer Service

Read letter about HSN Ms. Mindy Grossman CEO HSN Dear Ms. Grossman: This letter is to complain about, not only product but also customer service I recently received from HSN. I purchased a PROFORM SPACE SAVER ELIPTICAL TRAINER for $500.00 based on watching a presentation where the host and representative from PROFORM touted different advantages of the machine. Never mentioning that it took 2 men 2 hours to assemble it. When the box arrived I opened it only to find there were about 100 different pieces. I am not exaggerating. This is when I first called HSN and complained. They said they would credit my account $100 for assembly. I called ICON and found out it was $169 for assembly. Only to find out afterwards HSN had just reduced the price of the machine. The company Fitness Concepts, Chris showed up at my home alone. Even though the directions clearly state 2 people 2 hours for assembly. He put together the machine then when I complained about resistance and a rickety feeling told me it was because I had purchased the bottom of the line Proform machine. Now you have to ask yourself do you want to be partnered with a company that uses third party contractors who denigrate the product you are selling? When I called ICON as I was still having problems with the machine I was on hold for 2 hours before I gave up and hung up. It took me 3 other attempts with hold times as long to get yet another company to come out and address the issue. When Abe from Assembly Experts showed up he explained the problem. I AM TOO SHORT FOR THE MACHINE. Since it does not have an adjustable stride a person less than 5'3" would have a problem as the stride is set for a much taller person. A fact your presenters did not bring out. I then reached out to Proform and was sent an email by KATI POWELL asking what she could do to restore my faith in preform. I responded that she could send me a machine with an adjustable stride. Her response. Contact HSN about all returns. I did this and was told by Pamela on the day I requested the return that it was no problem and she was sorry for all the problems I was having. I asked, and make no mistake, knowing this machine was set up about it not being in a box and told me not to worry the manufacturer would issue a freight tag and give me 3 attempts for them to pick it up. Not only in accurate blatantly false. I returned home last night to find 2 damp UPS return tags in a corner of my portico. The instructions were scrawled, "˜please take item to UPS store around the corner or any UPS store". AND the drive had told dispatch he had picked up the item! I called HSN on conference call and asked how I was supposed to drag this machine to the UPS store. UPS told HSN the pickup was for a boxed item under 150 pounds. Really? Really? Not what I was told and questioned when I first asked Pamela, "How do I go about returning the piece of ***?" Please by all means pull the tape on the call. I called UPS and they told me to call HSN. I was transferred to supervisor when the customer service person seemed confused. I finally got through to a Supervisor by the name of DIANA who told me she was "˜sorry' about the miscommunication from Pamela but the item had to be in a box. IN A BOX? I should sit with an Allen wrench at 62 years old with arthritis (thus the need for the machine) and take this apart bolt by bolt. Diana told me it was ICON's choice as to whether it would go back freight or regular UPS (needing to be dis-assembled). You do that much business with ICON and someone cannot contact them for a customer who is totally unhappy and consequently dis-enchanted with HSN? At this point Diana, bless her heart gave up and told me to call the escalation team. Not a toll free number. But I did. Now you have: 1. An angry customer 2. Given incorrect information 3. Given the run-a-round by the manufacturer and now, for all appearances HSN. So what do I now have to do? Call the escalation team. By the way a recording not a live person. Just the ticket. Get the customer so angry the problem has to be escalated then have them call and leave a voice mail! The recording says someone will get back to me in 24-48 hours. Not surprising NO ONE EVER DID! If you review the show on the night I purchased never was this mentioned nor was the fact that it has no stride adjustment and according to the company Proform uses to repair and assemble the machines, Assembly Experts, Abe the technician informed me (on the second trip out by a company to address the problems I am having with the machine) I expected a much higher level of service from your company, and I am quite disappointed. Because I do not want to spend any more time on this problem, I am contacting American Express to let them know I am expecting a full refund. At this point I would quote your company's mission statement, but not surprisingly you do not have one. I have been at the above address for close to 25 years and if you check your archives will find I have been a customer that long. This is the first time I have ever written to your company and as you hopefully are thinking right now, "˜must have handled this really poorly to get to this point. You are the CEO I expect you attained that position by not passing the buck and correcting bad situations. I would like to, request a transcript of the show on the night in question. The adage goes, "If I like you I have 10 friends I can tell about your company, if I dislike your company I have 100 friends. Sincerely, Randy

Seems like they bent over backwards to try and help..heck, I recently purchased a imcumbent bike from sears and had to have someone put it together. .gears and all..sears or the company would send someone out...wow..and of course you need to take apart and reboot to ship..even as freight. .yikes..hope your 100 friends have more common sense

#515258

First of all why in the world would HSN ship an already put together piece of fitness equipment? Do you realize the size of those machines and how much room they take up in those freight trucks?

Also why didn't you think to ask these questions about putting together the machine or what specifications does the person need to be to use it? You're the consumer make a smart decision and do your research. Take responsibilities for some of actions you could of taken to avoid this.

The hosts only have so much time to talk about a product and cannot cover everything. They already provide more info than what you would get at most retail stores that don't specialize in fitness equipment alone.

#433228

I worked at HSN a while back. One thing that used to have the CSR's pulling their hair out is the claims made by the sales personnel on the TV.

It is sad that in this day and age, HSN still uses used car sales techniques.

Your item was probably shipped directly from the manufacturer.

They are the ones who should have made things right for you. They could have provided a box, etc, but it seems like no one cared. At the time I worked with HSN, we sold Gateway Computers, and the same issue was had with them.

They shipped the items directly and directed all calls to HSN.

Also, you have no idea how badly the HSN customer service agents are treated by the company. I know this is not your problem, but they are harassed and intimidated on a regular basis.

HSN

Made a purchase from HSN on the internet and made an error typing the address. I put 1523 instead of 1623 W. Lunt. I purchased under my name and sent to my name. My name is not on the mail box or the door bell. UPS delivered it anyway saying anyone could be in the apartment. I called HSN after getting a message that they were going to re-bill me. I was told it did not matter who's name is on the doorbell they delivered it anyway. They leave it up to UPS and if UPS feels it is safe they can leave a package. They also do not require a signature. This is the one and only time I will shop with HSN. What shipping company leaves packages in Chicago in a court yard building without a signature and they know my correct address. HSN telephone customer service is very condescending and rude. UPS will not leave a package at my address unless we are home one block makes a big difference in their company policy. UPS drivers do not know how to read. I get little post cards from them still saying there is an issue with the address instead of leaving it.

Misty, I agree I made the original mistake. BUT MY NAME IS NOT ON THE DOOR BELL AT THE OTHER ADDRESS AND I DID NOT GIVE UPS OR HSN A RELEASE TO DELIVER IT TO ANYONE BUT ME.

I would not be complaing had the package been sent back and I was out the shipping fee. This is just an example of people being lazy and not giving 100%.

I cannot do a job like that or trest another human being that way. How do I know that UPS just did'nt take the package home or sold it on Ebay.

Seriously are you joking., You entered in the address wrong and somehow it's HSN's fault..? There could be a million people living at that one address,, and no way to verify who does or doesn't live in your home..

It's also Not ups's fault that you don't know your own address..!! grow up and take responsiblity for your own actions..

#469586

This isn't fault on HSN's part. UPS delivers to the address that was entered on the order, which as ou state was wrong.

RIPPed off hundreds

My daughter and I each purchased a Everly Brothers portrait from HSN and sent once in a lifetime photos in to be retouched, etc. Each size was expensive. The portrait company went out of business, we never got the portraits , HSN refused to give us our money back and worst of all, we never got our precious photos back! We didn't receive notice the portrait scam studio was going out of business. It was a second hand scam that HSN received money for but no responsibility for any of it. SCAM. Now I hear that same portrait studio is under another name . We are both sick from losing our photographs not to mention money.

I also had the same experience with the Everly portrait, however I'm not giving up without a fight! I plan to contact the BBB, the ICC and go to small claims court if necessary.

Shame on HSN for not taking responsibility for their products. They agree that I paid for the product and did not receive it, but they refuse to give my money back.

HSN Back Orders

This is the second time I ordered Andrew Lessmans Vitamins on HSN only to have them back ordered. They don't contact you about the back order they just don't ship them. I never had a problem like that with QVC. Andrew himself said on the air they would take vitamins from the 30,60 count bottles to make sure he could deliver the 300 count bottle. So I ordered the 300 count bottle two weeks later I looked on HSN site only to see it back ordered. The cost is rather high as well. I just won't shop with HSN or Andrew Lessman.

GOOD BYE HSN- Quality & Customer Service are NOT THERE!

After shopping with HSN for the last 6 years and spending well over $15K with them, I'm fed up with poor quality, poor fit and now, a pattern of loose stones in rings and poor quality all the way around, REPEATEDLY. FORGET customer service- they are rude and don't care!! They actually try and 'upsell' you a "WARRANTY" for about 10% of the cost of the item. SO, if you wear the ring a month after you receive it and the stone almost falls out and you haven't purchased the warranty, THEY DON'T CARE. Shocking, really! Take your online shopping business to QUALITY RETAILERS with great customer service such as QVC, LL Bean, Lands End, and even ShopNBC (Great jewelry quality!) I HATE HSN. You know what they say,

HSN does not care if your product does not last a year

We purchased a 60" Misubushi TV last year the picture went out already and we have not used it very much because we have a TV in our bedroom the sound also is in and out So now we are stuck with this and out alot of money I called customer care they did not seem concerned referred me to another number they said that there was nothing they could do. DO NOT PURCHASE THEIR TV'S. I purchased a Flat screen from Target 7 years ago for our bedroom and it is still working good. So please do not waste your money on their junk....the customer service did not even apologize. After you purchase something they are done with you when they get your money

Christmas Disaster because of HSN

I ordered 25 different gifts worth about $2000. I filled out each one seperate. I filled out a gift notification form. Many of the gifts went out before I found out that no gift message accompanied the gifts and everyone got a price list as to what I paid for the gift. Chat at hsn OFFERED ME $10 for my troubles. The customer phone line service offered to write to all recipiants. However I still do not know if they received letters, and all my recipiants know what I paid for their Christmas Gifts. Merry Christmas HSN thanks for ruining my gift giving.

HSN banned me from ordering because of what was categorized as a high return rate

How can an individual be banned legally from placing orders from a company that has a 30 day return policy on products that the customer is not satisfied with ??? Products that I returned were never worn outside of the home and were always returned in excellent condition. In fact HSN wants you to wear or use the products and if not satisfied the customer has 30 days to return it. This ban cannot be legal and could be challenged in a court of law I would think. This is crazy to me and I cannot understand how HSN can stop me from ordering because of items that were returned. In 2010 alone I kept over $1000 in HSN merchandise.

The same thing happened to me.

When any of the hosts gush, "Just get it home and try it for 30 days and return it if you don't like it" every single show, I take them at their word.

The hosts should not be allowed to encourage consumers to "try" their products if a certain number of returns will end up in the customer getting banned. I bought a lot of things over the years and I would love to sue them for being unethical with their selling practices and "return policy."

#1348203
@PissedConsumer1348200

I would like to add that HSN charges their shoppers shipping on almost every single item, and the shopper must pay for return shipping. Each item is shipped separately.

I KNOW HSN is making money on shipping, especially using such an outdated, 1990s business model, since many online retailers now offer free shipping over a certain dollar amount.

HSN has outlet stores where they sell their merchandise at a drastically reduced cost, so I know they are making plenty of profit and charging ridiculous prices, so no need to ban customers if they want to buy their products they should be happy.

#884646

HSN banning you from ordering is like Target banning you from the store, it is a ivolation of civil rights anad consumer affairs regardless of their attorney, a 30 day return policy is a 30 day return policy and they are breaking the law.

#883123

How did you request to return it?

#825416

They can ban you because HSN is under no legal obligation to sell you anything. If they chose to say "We do not want your business" that is their legal right.

#825385

Why would anyone in their right mind want to do business with a company that has got a rating of 1 out of 10. Good riddance to HSN.

http://www.resellerratings.com/store/Home_Shopping_Network

#825384

Hahahahahahahah consider yourself lucky if they banned you. There are many place to shop with much better prices.

If they ban their customers they will eventually be out of business. So the power trip is on their heads. I refuse to ever do business with best. It just because they make me give my drivers license for a return even though I have a receipt I banned them and don't shop there.

I have a list of stores that I banned and never will do business again. I have the power to decide who gets my business and who doesn't.

#670443

I received a letter today from HSN telling me they were going to ban me from ordering because I returned items and they are losing money due to my return. Bull ***. Many times I see the merchandise at flea markets especially Signature Club A.

I don't think I or others should be threatened in this manner so I called them and said close my account QVC seems to like my business.

Yes I should know better, it it looks to good to be true it isn't good. So long HSN hope you lose many other customers with that threatening letter.

#705138
@PissedConsumer670443

HSN has corporate attorney's who are paid ridiculous amounts of money to write policy. I'm sure they have crossed the t's and dotted their i's.

If they sent you letter banning you from purchasing from them again, they have already determined the legality.

Have you ever been to an establishment with a sign in plain view "we reserved the right to deny service to anyone"?

#639443

Had the same thing happen to me. This station and other round the clock infomercials should expect that there is a certain amount of attrition.

What do they expect, you cannot feel, smell, taste or know what a product is like until you get it home. They are a service industry and should have this worked into their budget just like every other business.

But to refuse to allow you to ever purchase from them again and if you want to purchase from them again YOU the customer must write a letter to the Management begging them to let you buy their products, are they for real?
